Q. I wanted to get the wifi only Kindle, because it's a lot cheaper than the one with 3g. I'm staying at my grandmother's house for the summer, though, and I can't seem to get a wireless connection on my other devices (PSP, ipod). I was wondering if you could buy books with the kindle for pc software, and then put them on your Kindle through usb. ?
A. Yes, Kindles come with a USB cable. Instructions can be found here:

Is it possibe to connect your kindle fire to the internet on your computer through a usb cord?
Q. I don't have wifi, and i can't convince my parents to get it. So how would i get internet to my kindle though a usb cord? is it possible?
A. You can not do what you are asking, but what would be the point of having a Kindle if you're only using it hooked up to your computer? That defeats the whole purpose of having one. You can get books to read on your computer, or buy actual books. You have internet on your computer, so you certainly don't need the Kindle Fire for that. Here's what your parents need to know. You can get a good wireless router for under $30. They may think there's an additional cost for this service. Other than purchasing the wireless router, there is no additional cost. So it actually makes no sense that they would refuse to get a router unless they don't want to spend $25-30 for one. I purchased my Netgear wireless router from Staples... an office supply chain. I have a Mac, but it can be used for Mac or PC. It's almost crazy NOT to have wireless. If you have a smart phone, and have wireless at home, you are not using data minutes at all. You're using your own internet... not what's provided by your mobile service.
Get a wireless router. I don't know how older you are, but if you can buy the router, buy it yourself. Make sure you parents understand what wireless actually is, and that there is no additional cost to use it. If anything, if there are smart phones in the house where internet is accessed, it will be a savings.
Is it possible to transfer ebook files from pc to kindle reader via usb?
Q. I am planning to buy the kindle reader 3, so give me some advice.Thank u!
A. Yes.
To download your Kindle purchase to your computer at the time of purchase:
1. Select "Transfer via Computer" from the Deliver to: pull-down menu on the product detail page.
2. Save the file to your computer when prompted by your web browser.
3. Connect Kindle to your computer with the USB cable.
4. Use your computer's file browser to drag and drop the file to your Kindle.
To your computer, the Kindle looks like just another USB Data storage device.
